Facilitation

The main activities of the African British Business Association (AfBBA) on Trade Facilitation include fostering and organising collaborative agreement such as Linkages & Twinning initiatives, Business matchmaking International trade services and Training & Development.

One of AfBBA main roles  is in encouraging linkages between suitable partners in African countries and the United Kingdom, at all levels and in various sectors of the economy and governance towards development   and offering platforms for the collaborative ventures to take place.

Since 2004, we have actively initiated and fostered collaborative ventures   between Government Agencies, trade associations in African with other Institutions in the UK on various issue, as well matchmaking businesses on trade and education.

AfBBA have hosted Trade missions and trade visits from various parts of Africa to the United Kingdom to meet other businesses, trade association and Government agencies.

Some of our current initiatives include Leather & footwear and Textile Design, Manufacturing Outsourcing,   Packaging & Process development and Education linkages and collaboration.

We welcome participation and suggestions in these areas   or other initiatives which could be of mutual benefit to partners in both Africa and the United Kingdom.

Overall, AfBBA possess sound experience of providing various types of  collaborative agreements ranging from Technical know how, Technology Transfer ,these services to private businesses, trade body’s governments, other institutions, aimed at enabling them to understand and access markets for their products and services in lucrative markets, both in Africa and the United Kingdom/EU.

 

(i) Fostering Linkages & Twining
Linkages and twinning relations has traditionally been one of the most effective means of improving bilateral trade between different markets and region. In recent years  China, India and East Asian and the Middle Eastern are examples of emerging countries twinned to several parts of the UK that have clearly benefited from such strong ties.

 

The scope of activities that could be achieved in under this cooperative relation are immense and yet to be fully exploited between African countries and the United Kingdom or the richer economies in the acquisition of vital skills and capability of developing appropriate or strengthening institutions, towards accelerating the pace of development particularly in required to transform different of spheres of living today.

 

For example in Education and Training sector, AfBBA  is presently engaged in encouraging the creation of linkages and twinning  at educational levels  ranging from Primary and  Secondary schools, to Tertiary education especially Vocational education  and training and Higher institutions of learning,  based on common areas of interest to  both regions.  To learn how AfBBA can help you to establish such relationships please contact us.

 

(ii) Business match-making
AfBBA can assist businesses, corporate bodies as well as States in identifying and establishing contacts with suitable trade partners in various sectors and markets, and also ensure engagement in the right type of arrangements, which will be satisfactory to both parties and ensure the framework for compliance within international accepted norms.

 

Services can be carried out one one-to-one basis for individual businesses, or as part of sector or group mission: Joint ventures, Technical Assistance & Licensing and Franchising arrangements.

 

(iii) International Trade Services
Uniquely, The African British Business Association (AfBBA) provides businesses advisory services and assistance to a range of bodies such as Market development and Representation, and Sourcing and Procurement leads… Many of which are vital for the economic growth and prosperity of any business or organisation.
