History

The African British Business Association was set up in 2003 as joint initiative by the African Diaspora business community, British trade institutions with the support of African diplomatic corps and various government institutions, towards improving trade between the two regions.

AfBBA adopted a mission statement of ‘Fostering Africa Sustainable Development through Global Partnerships’ in agreement with the New Economic Partnerships (NEPAD) for Africa’s Development’s goals and strategy on private sector development.

To achieve the stated goals, AfBBA has dedicated and focused its activities in promoting and facilitating effective and lasting linkages between businesses, trade organisations, NGOs and Government Institutions in several African countries with their counterparts in the United Kingdom.
